AIR SOURCE RETROFIT IN SMARDEN, KENT
We removed a 30-year-old oil boiler and oil tank and power-flushed the heating system.
We then replaced the existing hot water cylinder, added further loft insulation and arranged for a free grant for cavity-wall insulation.
We then supplied and installed a Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump. We installed an additional radiator in the utility area and fitted thermostatic valves to all the radiatiors except the one in the hallway. We also updated the controls.

Our house is a stable conversion that was carried out in 1937, together with a 1980s extension. Our existing boiler was oil fired, inefficient and expensive to run. The installation of our 14kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump took just over a week and was very easy to live with.
