We have two ground source heat pumps which have worked faultlessly for 10 years but one recently packed up. On contacting the original installer I found they had gone out of business and found K A Stripp Ltd with a google search.
Their engineer arrived promptly at the agreed time, was Covid aware, extremely knowledgeable and competent and carried out the repair entirely to my satisfaction. Very pleased to have found a local firm who are clearly very familiar with this somewhat unusual technology.

Kevin and his team replaced my solid fuel heating system with a NIBE air source heat pump. From the initial quotation through to installation and commissioning they were professional and courteous. They were flexible in their approach and I now have a nice warm house.

Air Source Heat Pump Installation
Kevin and his team have done an excellent job of installing our Air Source Heat Pump, which produces easily enough hot water and all our heating at a fraction of the cost of electricity (all we otherwise have!)
We were nervous about going ahead, concerned about the noise of the pump, whether it would keep the house warm enough, whether the hot water would be hot enough for showers etc.. Have no worries - this stuff works! And it was fitted quickly, neatly and with minimal disruption in about six working days.
Well worth 5 stars.
Air Source Heat Pump Installation
Our house is a stable conversion that was carried out in 1937, together with a 1980s extension. Our existing boiler was oil fired, inefficient and expensive to run. The installation of our 14kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump took just over a week and was very easy to live with.
We have found that the cost saving is fantastic and we estimate that the system will pay for itself in about 4 years, and after that we'll be saving a lot of money.
Kevin was very helpful and always on hand to sort out any minor teething problems.

Kevin and his team did a thorough job measuring the heat loss in each room and working out the size of ground source heat pump and increased size radiators we needed, and estimating the costs and savings we should achieve.
After we accepted, his groundworks contractor dug 660 metres of 1 metre deep, 200mm wide trenches using a land drain machine, and covered them up with soil after. Then his team installed the pipework and vessels and pumps, and gave us all the documentation we needed to claim the RHI incentive. The cost was as estimated , and the system worked well from the start, a few minor niggles were sorted out very quickly by his team, and heat pump performance during winter (and other seasons) was very satisfactory, made more so by the increased price of energy.

Ground Source Heat Pump Installation
We had an air source heat pump installed on our new build two years ago and we couldn't be happier.
Kevin gave us excellent advice regarding insulation between the ground and first floors, a little more expensive to install but well worth it for the results.
Careful positioning of the pump on an external wall has resulted in a quieter system than many of our previous gas boiler setups.
No radiators is an added bonus, as well as toasty floors in winter!
